Finding a "Rent-a-Goalie"

Renting a goalie is easy with Goalie Gigs. We offer you two options, described below.

Post Your Game for Free, You Select the Goalie you Rent

Post your game and then select the goalie from a list of goalies who apply. You can hire the goalie you used for your last game if he/she applies.

    1. Provide the details of your game including the date, time, location and level of play.
    2. Name the fee you'd like to pay.
    3. We instantly tell goalies about your game.
  2. Select Your Goalie
    1. Goalies apply for your game and name their fee
    2. You review skill level, fee and quality ratings of respondents.
    3. When you are ready to hire, purchase a Game Credit if you don't already have one.
  3. Hire Your Goalie
    1. Your account and the goalie's account are each deducted 1 Game Credit
    2. Pay your goalie's fee at the game
  4. Provide Post-Game Feedback
    1. Renters and goalies provide post-game feedback to help maintain quality and fairness
    2. You can also respond to feedback

"Fast Book" - Automatically Hire a Qualified Goalie

Use "Fast Book" when you are in a hurry and don't have time to select a goalie yourself, or if you just want to leave the heavy lifting to us. Any goalie hired on a "Fast Book" must match at least the skill and feedback criteria you provide.

  1. Create Your Fast Book Game Posting
    1. Provide the details of your game including the date, time, location and level of play.
    2. Name the fee you'd like to pay.
    3. We instantly tell goalies about your game.
    4. Change your game posting to "Fast Book", and set your minimum criteria
  2. Goalie Hiring
    1. Goalies apply for your game; the first qualified goalie who applies will be hired.
    2. You will be notified if and when your goalie is hired.
  3. Provide Post Game Feedback
    1. Renters and goalies provide post-game feedback to help maintain quality and fairness.
    2. You can also respond to feedback.

Finding Hockey Games

Goalies, we've made it easy for you to find games to play. You have to have at least 1 Game Credit in your account to apply to games. You can apply to as many games as you want as long as you have at least 1 Game Credit. You don't need to purchase a Game Credit until you see a game that interests you.

  1. Sign up for free by registering with our service
  2. Choose where you want to play using My Rinks. You will be notified of games at these rinks.
  3. When you are ready to apply to a game, purchase at least 1 Game Credit in your account.
  4. Apply to games. When you apply, you are making a commitment to play if you are hired.
    1. When you apply, specify your fee and the deadline by which the renter must hire you.
    2. For "Fast Book" postings, the Fee is specified in the game posting by the renter.
  5. We notify you if you are hired. For a "Fast Book" posting, you will be hired immediately if you are qualified.
  6. Go play your game and collect any fees from the renter. Collecting your fee from the renter is your responsibility.

Goalie Rental Fees

Goalie Gigs goalie rental services offer the best value in the market. We make it easy for you to do rent a goalie with us using our flexible Game Credit and Name Your Fee service.

Our rates are as low as $2.99 per game, when you purchase 10 Game Credits in your account, and $4.99 per game for a single game credit.

By having at least one game credit in your account, you will be able to use paid features faster and avoid possible payment processing delays. At GoalieGigs.com, there are no hidden fees; just more ice time, period.

The final cost to rent a goalie is 1 Game Credit, plus the fee the renter agrees to pay the goalie.

Goalies are also charged 1 Game Credit when they are hired. As such, most goalies may charge at least a small fee to recoup the cost of their Game Credit.

Name Your Fee

The fee paid to the goalie by the renter is established using our simple "Name Your Fee" negotiation process.

  1. For "Fast Book" Postings: The fee the renter specifies in the game posting is the final fee that the renter agrees to pay the goalie, if a goalie is hired.
  2. For Postings Where the Renter Selects the Goalie: The renter provides an initial "Ask Price" to indicate how much the renter would like to pay. The goalie responds with the fee they are willing to play for, taking into consideration the renter's ask price. If the goalie is hired, the renter agrees to pay the goalie the goalie's fee at the game in cash.

Game Credits

When a goalie is hired, we deduct 1 Game Credit from the goalie's account and 1 Game Credit from the renter's account.

We also require you to have at least 1 Game Credit in your account balance for certain features in which you are making a commitment:

  1. Renters: When you post a "Fast Book" game, you must have least 1 Game Credit in your account. If a qualified goalie responds he/she is immediately hired for your game, and 1 Game Credit is automatically deducted.
  2. Goalies: When you apply for a game, you must have at least 1 Game Credit in your account. If you are hired for the game, 1 Game Credit is automatically deducted.

Please note that there are no cancellations once a goalie has been hired. Prior to hiring, renters are able to cancel their postings and goalies can cancel their applications for games.

Our post-game feedback rating system helps ensure that everyone plays hard and maintains their commitment, and that any fees that are agreed upon are paid. Our goal is a fair system for everyone.

Buying Game Credits

Our Game Credits are very affordable. Currently, we charge $2.99 for 1 Game Credit, and you can purchase 10 Game Credits for as low as $24.99.

  1. Sign in
  2. Click on the Credits link in the User Menu at the top right of the page.
  3. Choose how many Game Credits you want to buy.
  4. Follow the easy to use payment process using Paypal.
  5. Once we have received confirmation of your payment, Game Credits will be awarded to your account.

We recommend purchasing at least one Game Credit in advance if you are considering using our services to avoid any possible delays with payment processing.
